Shinjuku Gyoen; Nature within the Heart of the City
Entrance
I’ve come to a famous tourist spot in Shinjuku called Shinjuku Gyoen. Today I’ll be going through the Okido Gate into the park. By the name, the entrance fee is only 200 yen!
They have Japanese pamphlets set out as soon as you enter but you can also get them in English, Chinese or Korean because they have so many foreign tourists visit. The workers at the information desk also speak English so no worries!
So big… lol Wonder where I should go~
Green House
Looks like there’s a green house. Let’s check it out!
After a climb up the stairs, I’ve finally arrived.

Spending some time in Mother Nature
Found some spot-billed ducks in this giant metropolis :)
Interview 1
I spotted a tourist resting on a bench as I walked through the shade of the trees looking at the ducks. He seemed to be looking through a guide map and thinking about where to go next. I talked with him for a little bit. He said he loves sightseeing in Japan and this place is his favorite because it has so much nature. “The view’s great!” He even agreed to pose for me! Thanks!
Artistic Views
plaza
A big plaza. In March-April, when it gets warmer and the sakura are in full bloom, tons of people will come here for hanami (flower-viewing). Then it gets really crowded!

Interview 2
I met even more people who’ve come to Japan to sightsee!
These 2 ladies are from Australia and came all the way over to Japan. “Do you mind if I take a photo?” I asked, and they said OK right away. “We’re loving Japan!” I was so happy to hear them say this! Thanks for showing me such great smiles!
Interview 3
Another encounter with tourists from overseas lol I’m so lucky!
These 2 young ladies came from California. A male staff member greeted them and it felt like they were worried he was trying to hit on them… but we explained ourselves and then CHEESE! I hope you girls enjoy Japan! And be sure to contact the Goin’ Japaneseque! Team the next time you come back to Japan :)
Exit
Time to go back home. It’s so big it’s hard to go around and see everything. And I have to say one lasting impression was just how many tourists were there. We kept passing by them as we walked along. This place is in Shinjuku and definitely one place I want you to come and see for yourself!
Well, guess it’s time I go home now… :)
