“Purikura” Print Club, the fabulizer

What are these booths for, magazines? And how am I supposed to go inside? Oh, you just walk right in where there’s a slit area above ground.

Yes, these are automated picture machines that’ll allow you to draw, paint, put stamps and dates on the pictures after you and your friends have taken your favorite photos! The pictures come in variety of sizes, so you can split them with whom you took your pictures with. Plus, if you enter your cell’s email, the machine will send you the digitized version.

This, ladies and gentlemen, are the evolved form of a picture machine that once was called a “purikura” (abbreviation for “Print Club”). Ah, those were the good ol’ days that you just pick a frame and gathered around trying to fit 7 people on the screen. Now, it’s impossible to have more than 4 people in the booth. I feel so old!

After you’ve taken your photo, you can highlight your skin, put makeup on, and even enlarge your eyes to the point where you’re no scarier than that infamous “Ao Oni.” Overall, I promise you it’s a fun experience so go ahead and give it a try! I’m sure you’ll get tons of laughs with your friends.
