    KABUKI is one of the major types of classical theater in Japan. It was developed as a form of popular entertainment for common people in the 17th century. Kabuki is characterized by highly stylized acting , music, and dancing. The staging and costumes are also spectacular!
    The length of an average Kabuki programs is four to five hours, but the program is made from several acts and you can buy the single act ticket. The Single Act ticket is recommended for those who would like to view just one act. Let’s go to see the beautiful Japanese performing art “KABUKI”!

    Kabuki plays are classified into three types. There are; historical stories with scenes of exaggerated action is called 荒事(ARAGOTO), everyday domestic tales like TV dramas (世話物 SEWAMONO), and classical Japanese style dances (所作事 SHOSAGOTO).
    You will see actors with beautiful KUMADORI makeup in programs about ARAGOTO mostly.
    representative examples: 「助六 SUKEROKU」「勧進帳 KANJINCHO」「暫 SHIBARAKU」
