Nakamise Shopping Street
Probably everyone who has ever visited Tokyo has come to this place for omiyage (souvenirs), but there’s a reason why! There’s a huge variety of goods and so many shops. Yes, it can be very crowded but it’s one of the best places to buy lots of things for many people without having to trek across the city to find something that appeals to everyone. The shopping street starts right when you enter Kaminari-mon, which is a huge gate outside of Sensoji Temple.
Usually when I come here, I pick up little daruma. You can get a pack of 5 small ones for less than 1,000 yen. They’re easy to pack in your luggage, they don’t damage easily, and they’re a cool little cultural gift.
Tip: If you see something you like, don’t buy it right away! Chances are, at least one other store has it for sale and it may be even a few hundred yen cheaper!
