For Anime Lovers! 6 Anime Collaboration Cafés Popular in Japan Now

Anime broadcasting seasons have 4 periods throughout the year in Japan, and they are called spring anime, summer anime and so on, named after the season they start.

When broadcasting of a new anime series is announced, we then wonder when our favorite anime will show up in anime collaboration cafés. Collaboration cafés with the interior and menu designed with the theme of beloved anime is undoubtedly a fantastic place for fans to spend a special time.

This time I am introducing collaboration cafés currently open across Japan where you can enjoy anime-related menu. Please check it out by all means if your favorite anime is in a collaboration café or there are others you are curious about.


1. Osomatsu-san & Sweets Paradise

It’s been already about a year since broadcasting of the anime has concluded, but the feverish popularity of Osomatsu-san (Mr. Osomatsu) doesn’t yet appear abated. I bet many of you might have already visited collaboration cafés of Osomatsu-san, held many places nationwide.

This time I am introducing collaboration cafés currently held at Sweets Paradise, an all-you-can-eat sweets cafe. They are wildly popular and won’t fail to please die-hard Osomatsu-san fans.

You can find food and dessert dishes on the menu that are designed after the image of anime characters in Osomatsu-san, and you can also enjoy beverages in various colors that express image of individual Matsuno brothers.

In addition if you place an order from the collaboration menu, you can receive an original gift. Don’t miss this opportunity!

2. My Hero Academia & J-World Tokyo

To commemorate the decision to broadcast the second season of the popular anime “My Hero Academia”, an event of “My Hero Academia in J-World Tokyo” is being held currently. During this event a special menu is offered at either “J-World Kitchen” or “J-Patisserie” of the event venue.

The menu offers a number of original dishes designed after professional heroes and hero candidates in the anime. A bite of this food may help your uniqueness manifest in full bloom.

3. ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Dept. & Sweets Paradise

The popular anime “ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Dept.” is currently on air and its collaboration cafés are offered at Sweets Paradise at the same time, too!

The anime is well known for the fact that plenty of mouth-watering pastries and sweets appear in the story, and the collaboration cafés offer food menu based on the food that actually appears in the anime. This is a precious opportunity for you to actually taste the food that you have craved for.

In addition you can enjoy sweets that are designed after image of various characters. Please take time and savor them while imagining about your favorite characters.

Guests that order from the collaboration menu will receive an original gift too. If you are a fan of ACCA, this is a must-go event!

4. Servamp & Anime Plaza

Collaboration café is open and popular for the 2016 anime “Servamp”, written by Strike Tanaka. It is held at Anime Plaza in Akihabara.

This is the second time for this anime to have collaboration café event, and this time the menu includes ever more attractive dishes that fans were dying for. The new items of the menu were invented after image of newly joined characters, and they not only look super but also taste fabulous.

If you order from the collaboration menu, you will also receive a limited-edition gift. Incidentally the café offers Servamp original goods that you can purchase only at Anime Plaza. Thus you can enjoy shopping after your stomach is filled.

Admission: Servamp Café operates by reservation only through membership registration on Internet (drawing involved), however you can enter the café without reservation when seats are available.


5. Little Witch Academia & Good Smile & Animate Cafe

“Little Witch Academia”, a winter anime in 2017 currently on air, has appeared in a collaboration by Good Smile and Animate Cafe! Image of characters is projected on the food menu just as they are, including a pasta dish of Akko who cherishes dreams and aspirations to become a witch, hamburger steak of Lotte, and Sucy’s risotto. Why not try your favorite character’s dish and immersing yourself in the world of Little Witch Academia?

An order from the collaboration menu results in a special gift of 1 coaster out of 11 different designs in total. Which one will you get? You will find out after you receive yours.

Admission: On Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, reservation is required via lottery. On weekdays, first-come, first-served.

6. Sword Art Online & Sega

“Sword Art Online – Ordinal Scale” was released on February 18, 2017, and “Sword Art Online Collaboration Café by Sega” was launched at the same time. The café offers foods and beverages designed after our familiar characters, such as Kirito, Asuna and so on. There is an especially wide variety of drink options offered and you may need some time to decide your selection.

As a special benefit, you will receive a signature big coaster when you order a collaboration entrée. In addition you will get another special coaster when you order an additional item from the dessert menu. Let’s order from both menus and receive 2 kinds of coasters!

This collaboration café requires reservation in advance for any day during the period, and it is determined by drawing. Please don’t forget to make a reservation in advance when you visit it, as you cannot enter the venue without it. If you wish to wait for cancellation, registration is available for the day starting at 9:50AM at the store front of Club Sega Akihabara New Building. If you were unable to make reservation, I would recommend taking advantage of this instead.
